Business Angels Europe is pleased to share the publication of the new WomenINvestEU report, “Taking Action on Gender-Conscious Investment in Europe: Case Studies of Good Practice from Angels, VCs and Banking Organisations,” now officially released as a European Union publication. This important milestone marks a significant step forward in advancing gender-conscious investment practices across Europe, providing practical insights and real-world examples from across the investment ecosystem.
The report, which includes a Foreword by Kirsten Jorna, Director-General of DG GROW, has been compiled as part of the WomenINvestEU initiative. It brings together 13 case studies of good practice from angel investors, venture capital funds, and banking organisations across Europe. Several Business Angels Europe members are featured among the contributors, highlighting the active role of our network in supporting more inclusive investment practices.
Rather than focusing solely on policy or theory, the publication offers a practical overview of what is already working across Europe. It examines key measures implemented by organisations, concrete outcomes achieved through these initiatives, the challenges faced during implementation and practical tips for organisations wishing to adopt similar approaches. This makes the report a valuable resource for investors, intermediaries, and ecosystem stakeholders committed to improving access to finance for women entrepreneurs.
The case studies are structured around four key pillars that reflect different dimensions of gender-conscious investment: creating connected communities, building a gender-conscious investment experience, increasing strategic commitment and increasing women’s representation in investment.
The publication highlights a growing momentum across Europe to address persistent gaps in access to finance and to strengthen the effectiveness of the investment ecosystem as a whole. It brings together experiences from a wide range of organisations that are testing, implementing, and refining approaches to gender-conscious investment in practice.
By making these experiences visible and accessible, the report provides a valuable resource for anyone working to improve how investment reaches women founders and how the investor base itself can become more diverse.
