Reginald Vossen is managing director of BAN Flanders, which since the merger of 4 BAN's is the leading angel network in Belgium, with over 500 deals made. Reginald holds two Master’s Degrees in Economic Sciences (Commercial and Financial Sciences, Commercial and Consular Sciences – International Marketing). As Chief of Staff of the provincial economic executive of the Belgian province of Limburg, he was founding partner of the regional Limburg BAN in 1999. He became manager of this network at the end of 2000. He realized the merger of 4 BANs into BAN Flanders in 2004, covering activities in entire Belgium. Since its inception, BAN Flanders also founded 3 angel co-investment funds for a total of 42 mio EUR.

Luigi is one of the nine founders of Italian Angels for Growth, one of the fastest growing business angels groups in Europe, counting more than 200 members, and a Member of the Executive Committee of the Italian Business Angels Association. He is the co-founder and CEO of META, a European company with offices in several countries delivering Investment, Academy and Advisory Services in the field of Research and Innovation. Since 1993 he has led the development of the company counting now many International Institutions and Investors, such as the European Commission, the European Investment Bank and many other leading International and National Research and Innovation Organisations as clients. During the early years of his career, he was a researcher and software engineer in the field of Computational Mechanics working with a spin-off of Imperial College (www.lusas.com) and Italian Research Institutions. He holds an Engineering Degree Summa cum Laude from the University of Rome a Master of Science and a Diploma from Imperial College London.

Jenny Tooth is the Executive Chair of the UK Business Angels Association, the trade body for angel and early stage investing for the UK which she set up in 2012 and built into a community of over 18,000 Angels and earlystage funds.  Jenny has extensive experience in building  effective angel investment ecosystems in innovation and  technology and has been involved in developing the policy, fiscal and regulatory environment for angel investment.  Jenny is an angel investor herself and has a specific focus on increasing gender and wider diversity in angel investment and has been leading on BAE’s research and work across Europe in this area, including through the WA4E and the WeGate programmes.

Since 1999 she is executive board member of Business Angels Agency Ruhr e.V. and since 2001 executive board of Business Angels Network Germany e.V. (BAND), the umbrella organisation of the German Business Angels Networks. Additionally Dr. Günther is Director of the company Startbahn MedEcon Ruhr GmbH, Managing Board Member of pro Ruhrgebiet e.V. and since 2013 she is Vice President of Business Angels Europe (BAE). In 2013 she was appointed to be member of the Advisory board "Young digital economy" at the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. Ute Guenther has studied Philosophy, Romance languages and Education. Since 1980, Dr. Günther is active in research and teaching, especially at the universities of Bochum, Essen, Trier and Vallendar. Parallel she is managing large regional infrastructure projects.

René Reijtenbagh is co-founder and vice president of the Dutch Business Angels Association, BAN Nederland. He is also CEO of Business Angels Connect, a Benelux business angels platform for the sectors Agro-Food, Health and (bio-) Chemistry. The network cooperates with the Dutch Topsector Chemistry and Agri-food.  For the Health sector Business Angels Connect is the Benelux lead for the EIT Health Investors Network. Business Angels Connect is founding member of the BAE club and does have cooperations with several Business Angels Networks in Germany like Angelengine in Düsseldorf en Business Angels Argenthur Ruhrgebiet in Essen.  

 

René is vice president of Business Angels Europe (BAE) responsible for the Cross border Cooperation initiatives. René studied Economic Geography at the Radboud University of Nijmegen and followed a Business Administration program on innovation management at the TSM Business school in Enschede, the Netherlands. He is father of two sons, loves gardening and breeds Welsch- and Shetland ponies as a hobby.

Alain PUJOL is a seasoned Business Angel, he is the current Co-President of France Angels (the French Business Angels networks federation with more than 65 networks). Since 2010, he is also a Board Member of Angels Santé/Angels for Health, a BA network specialized in Healthcare where he focuses on international relations. Alain is also the founder of APHC Consulting, specialized in open innovation. Before APHC Consulting, Alain spent more than 20 years in international business positions in large pharmaceutical companies, and he was the CEO of a biotech start-up and of a specialty devices/pharmaceutical start-up. Alain is an expert for EIT Health, an independent European Union body set up to promote innovation and entrepreneurship across Europe and for the EIC. He gives numerous lectures on innovation and supports the development of BA networks in Europe and Africa. Alain holds an MBA from Insead and graduated from Ecole Centrale Paris, France.

Lurdes Gramaxo president of Investors Portugal, and a partner at Bynd Venture Capital, formerly Busy Angels, with more than 30 active investments in its portfolio. She invests in seed and early-stage companies in IT/digital and sustainability (e.g. life sciences, clean technologies) from Portugal and Spain, as well as in startups related to these markets. At Investors Portugal she is committed to improving the environment for angel investors and startups in Portugal and in Europe. Lurdes Gramaxo studied economics and psychology at the University of Porto. After a career of more than 20 years in various management positions in a multinational family-owned company based in the Netherlands, she has been a partner and board member of Bynd VC since 2015.

Karel Obluk is a partner in Evolution Equity Partners, a venture capital fund that invests in Europe and North America to start-up companies with global ambitions, particularly in the following areas: IT, IT security, information systems, and machine learning. He is a founder of business angel group Garage Angels and has several smaller angel investments in the Czech Republic and abroad. Karel studied computer science at the Brno University of Technology; worked in technical and executive roles, among others as CTO and CEO of AVG Technologies. He is a member of the Kauffman Fellows Society

Philippe Gluntz is the founder and former president of Paris Business Angels, former president and current executive vice-president of the French federation of business angels and early stage funds (France Angels). Furthermore, Philippe is the founder of Business Angels Europe and has been its first president from from 2013 to 2017.

 

Philippe graduated from "Ecole Polytechnique” (Maths-Physics) and "Ecole des Ponts et Chaussées” (Civil Engineering). He also graduated from "l’Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris" in Economics and Political Science, and holds a PhD in Management from Vanderbilt University (USA). Philippe Gluntz has spent his whole professional life as CEO and COO of major Software and Telecom Companies (Alcatel Group, Cap Gemini Group, ADP Group). He is a serial Business Angel and was chosen as European Business Angel of the year 2012. Philippe is  also involved in the Venture Capital market, as Board member, and also teaches in academic institutions.

Malin has been the president of TechAngels since 2019. He founded his first company, EEU Software, early in 2000. Malin graduated in 1996 from the Computer Science faculty of Politehnica University of Bucharest, specialising in Artificial Intelligence and Graphics. Four years later, he founded EEU Software, a software developing company working for major Fortune 500 companies until today. In 2013 he had his first investment as a business angel. He became the president of TechAngels in 2019 and as of today he invested in 14 startups, had 2 exits and led TechAngels to a continuous growth.

Jacek Błoński is a board member of APER Ventures and Partner of the Zernike Meta – Ventures Ingenium Poland Fund. From 2007 to 2012 Jacek was a CEO of Lewiatan Business Angels – the largest Business Angels Network in Poland. Prior to Lewiatan Business Angels, Jacek worked as Consultant in Simon Kucher and Partners – global consulting firm specializing in product pricing; Analyst at Enterprise Investors Corporation - leading PE/VC Fund in the Central and Eastern Europe and as a Head of Product and Price Planning in BMW Group (Warsaw, Poland and Munich, Germany) being responsible for BMW and MINI range. Jacek Błoński is an alumni of IESE Business School in Barcelona, Spain where he finished Advanced Management Program, alumni of the Singularity University in California, USA and also holds Master Degree in Financial Management from the Higher School of Business – National-Louis University in Nowy Sacz, Poland.

Independent Board Member for International cooperation - Belgium

Claire Munck has just been selected as "one of the top personalities to follow in Belgium in 2021" by the Financial Newspaper l'Echo. Claire is CEO of BeAngels, one of the most active business angel networks in Europe. Since its creation, the network has brought together more than 50 million euros of private capital to support more than 300 companies. She took over the management of the organization in 2013, after starting her career in Brussels as a lobbyist at EURADA, the European Association of Regional Development Agencies, dealing with European projects related to the financing of innovation and the exchange of good practices in stimulating entrepreneurial ecosystems. Claire has, after having coordinated the association within EURADA, operated the spin-out of and then managed EBAN, the European Association of Business Angel Networks from 2006 to 2011. From 2011 to 2013, she collaborated with BeAngels and the international network Go Beyond to develop new investment products for private investors. Claire participated in the creation at the international level of the World Business Angels Association and then of the Global Business Angels Network. She is an alumni of McGill University (Montreal) and ULB (Brussels). She is the mother of two children.

João has more than 25 years of business experience and  is president of Portuguese Business Angel Association (APBA) and founder of Toplever Business Consultants. Born in Lisbon in 1959, graduated Civil Engineering in 1982, M. Sc. in Structural Engineering in 1986 at IST (Lisbon), MBA at Universidade  Nova de Lisboa and post graduated in European Economics in 1989 at UCP. As business angel Joao is partner of an investment company, Brains2Market. He also invests in start-ups in different fields like web applications and services. As executive Joao was CEO of Portugal Telecom Multimedia.com , CEO of  Telepac (ISP), Chairman of Sapo portal, board member o PT Ventures. Joao also served as Board Member of Expo Urbe, the company that was  in charge of the urban development project associated with the 1998 Lisbon World Exposition. As a consultant Joao was Vice-President and Country Manager of AT Kearney, focusing on telecom and banking, strategy and organization and manager at McKinsey & Company. Joao is also  Professor of Entrepreneurship at Universidade Catolica Portugues and a regular collaborator and commentator in the media on economics and politics.
