On February 5, Business Angels Europe CEO Marie-Elisabeth RUSLING organised a breakfast at the European Parliament together with Knowledge4Innovation. Both RUSLING and BAE president Luigi AMATI were present, and spoke about the topic of "Women Empowerment via Investment". During the breakfast the grabbed the opportunity to make the case for supporting Women Angel investing to several key Euro parliamentarians. The breakfast was part of a full week of promotion of Business Angel investing towards key Brussels' stakeholders. On Friday February 7th, RUSLING spoke at the Directorate General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG CONNECT), about angel investors' role to take European Innovation to the next level. On Wednesday, also in the European Parliament, AMATI spoke during a roundtable discussion on ‘Implementing Horizon Europe’. In this case, he took a broader view, arguing that the Horizon Europe programme is an important step towards single market completion. Furthermore, he spoke about the importance of increasing cross border investment and the relevance of business angels’ implication. AMATI also partook in the expert group of the Directorate General Research and Innovation (DG RTD) on "Equity investments in Europe: Mind the Gap". Among other things, this expert group discussed in which way DG RTD could support in closing the equity gap. AMATI made the case for the importance of structurally integrating angel investing into whatever solution or programme may be proposed.
