On March 13, several BAE members got together with Peter Cowley of EBAN in a panel
that kicked off a fruitful and energetic Business Angel Research Conference in Berlin. The conference was organized by our member BAND, and supported by the ESIL programme.
It was an intense day full of important knowledge sharing in a good athmosphere. Our BAE Member Jonathan Harris of LINC Scotland presented the success story of Angel Investing in Scotland and BAE Club member Cornelia Kolb presented BayStartUP.
Naturally, strong academic research was central to the conference. Among others, Michael Modl discussed the signalling effects of crowdfunding on venture investors' decision making, and Marius Berger of ZEW talked about new pathways into exploring the crucial difference between the visible and the invisible market.
We were pleased to have Helmut Kraemer-EIS of the EIF present his latest research, Luuk Borg of DG Connect introduce the Innovation Radar and Julio Suarez of AFME discuss the Pre-IPO Risk Capital Indicators.
