Luigi is one of the nine founders of Italian Angels for Growth, one of the fastest growing business angels groups in Europe, with more than 130 members (www.italianangels.net). As an early stage fund manager, he is the Chairman of META Ventures, an investment company with over €100 ml euro under management, of which over €60 ml has already been invested in more than 60 companies (www.meta-group.com). Finally, he is the co-founder and CEO of META, a company focused on innovation, entrepreneurship and finance. He has since 1993 lead the development of the company from a local boutique to an international firm working with International Institutions, such as the European Commission, the World Bank, the Interamerican Development Bank. During the early years of his career he was a researcher and software engineer in the field of Computational Mechanics working with a spin-off of Imperial College (www.lusas.com) and a number of Italian Research Institutions. He holds an Engineering Degree Summa cum Laude from the University of Rome, and a Master of Science Diploma from Imperial College London.
Philippe Gluntz graduated from "Ecole Polytechnique”( Maths-Physics ) and "Ecole des Ponts et Chaussées”( Civil Engineering). He also graduated from "l’Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris" in Economics and Political Science, and holds a PhD in Management from Vanderbilt University (USA). Philippe Gluntz has spent his whole professional life as CEO and COO of major Software and Telecom Companies (Alcatel Group, Cap Gemini Group, ADP Group) and since 12 years is a serial Business Angel and was chosen as European Business Angel of the year 2012. Philippe is also involved in the Venture Capital market, as Board member, and also teaches in academic institutions. He spends a significant part of his time as an Executive Vice-President of the French Federation of Business Angels and early stage Funds (France Angels) and Board member of Paris Business Angels (of which he is a founder). Philippe is the founder of Business Angels Europe and has been its first president from from 2013 to 2017.

Ute Guenther has studied Philosophy, Romance languages and Education. Since 1980, Dr. Günther is active in research and teaching, especially at the universities of Bochum, Essen, Trier and Vallendar. Parallel she is managing large regional infrastructure projects. Since 1999 she is executive board member of Business Angels Agency Ruhr e.V. and since 2001 executive board of Business Angels Network Germany e.V. (BAND), the umbrella organisation of the German Business Angels Networks. Additionally Dr. Günther is Director of the company Startbahn MedEcon Ruhr GmbH, Managing Board Member of pro Ruhrgebiet e.V. and since 2013 she is Vice President of Business Angels Europe (BAE). In 2013 she was appointed to be member of the Advisory board "Young digital economy" at the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.

René Reijtenbagh is Managing director of the Dutch Business Angels Association, BAN Nederland. He is also Managing director of Business Angels Connect, a national business angels platform for the sectors Agro-Food, Health, Chemical and Offshore Wind Industry. He is vice president of Business Angels Europe (BAE) responsible for the Cross border Cooperation initiatives. René studied Economic Geography at the Radboud University of Nijmegen and followed a Business Administration program on innovation management at the TSM Business school in Enschede, the Netherlands.

Reginald Vossen holds two Master’s Degrees in Applied Economic Sciences (Commercial and Financial Sciences, Commercial and Consular Sciences – International Marketing). As Chief of Staff of the provincial economic executive of the Belgian province of Limburg, he was founding secretary of the Limburg BAN in 1999. He became manager of this network at the end of 2000. Since the merger of 4 Flemish BANs into BAN Vlaanderen vzw in 2004, he is the general manager of this network of about 225 BA’s active throughout entire Belgium, with focus on the Flemish region.

Jenny Tooth is the CEO of the UK Business Angels Association which has superseded the British Business Angels Association, the trade body for angel and early stage investing. Jenny has been providing strategic support to BBAA since its establishment in 2004, supporting both policy and interfacing with Government, as well as developing the trade body’s major annual events. She has operated a wide range of investment readiness programmes, including projects supported by national and EU funding. She has also participated in a number of expert groups on access to finance and chaired the EC Knowledge Intensive Services group under DG Enterprise. She has also been a frequent judge at business plan competitions and acted as an assessor for the Technology Strategy Board for innovation grant applications.

João has more than 25 years of business experience and is president of Portuguese Business Angel Association (APBA) and founder of Toplever Business Consultants. Born in Lisbon in 1959, graduated Civil Engineering in 1982, M. Sc. in Structural Engineering in 1986 at IST (Lisbon), MBA at Universidade Nova de Lisboa and post graduated in European Economics in 1989 at UCP. As business angel Joao is partner of an investment company, Brains2Market. He also invests in start-ups in different fields like web applications and services. As executive Joao was CEO of Portugal Telecom Multimedia.com , CEO of Telepac (ISP), Chairman of Sapo portal, board member o PT Ventures. Joao also served as Board Member of Expo Urbe, the company that was in charge of the urban development project associated with the 1998 Lisbon World Exposition. As a consultant Joao was Vice-President and Country Manager of AT Kearney, focusing on telecom and banking, strategy and organization and manager at McKinsey & Company. Joao is also Professor of Entrepreneurship at Universidade Catolica Portugues and a regular collaborator and commentator in the media on economics and politics.

Marie-Elisabeth is an EU affairs professional serving the interests of SMEs for over 20 years, now focussing on early stage finance / angel investment to help European start-ups secure their journey. She is a keen promoter of female investment and entrepreneurship and a contributor to European policies that can help make Europe a great place to launch your business, innovate and scale up. Marie-Elisabeth joined BAE as CEO in January 2017. In Brussels since 1994, she has worked as EU Projects Manager, International Affairs & Trade Director, Head of Corporate Affairs at Eurochambres, then as Director of European Affairs at CCI France and co-founded a small business. She graduated from the ESCP-Europe business school in international management and from La Sorbonne University in literature & languages, and enjoys supporting alumni in the development of their career.
Jacek Błoński is a Partner of the Zernike Meta – Ventures Ingenium Poland Fund and also serves as Independent Board Member at the Business Angels Europe (The European Confederation for Angel Investing). From 2007 to 2012 Jacek was a CEO of Lewiatan Business Angels – the largest Business Angels Network in Poland.Prior to Lewiatan Business Angels, Jacek worked as Consultant in Simon Kucher and Partners – global consulting firm specializing in product pricing; Analyst at Enterprise Investors Corporation - leading PE/VC Fund in the Central and Eastern Europe and as a Head of Product and Price Planning in BMW Group (Warsaw, Poland and Munich, Germany) being responsible for BMW and MINI range. Jacek Błoński is an alumni of IESE Business School in Barcelona, Spain where he finished Advanced Management Program, alumni of the Singularity University in California, USA and also holds Master Degree in Financial Management from the Higher School of Business – National-Louis University in Nowy Sacz, Poland.

Ms. Hudson leads the Angel Capital Association (ACA), the world’s leading professional and trade association focused on fueling the success of accredited angel investors and portfolio companies in high-growth, early-stage ventures. ACA provides professional development, public policy advocacy and significant benefits and resources to its membership more than 13,000 individual accredited investors throughout North America. Ms. Hudson led the angel initiative at the Kauffman Foundation and also oversaw many of the Foundation’s entrepreneurial education and mentoring programs designed to ensure that more entrepreneurs develop sustainable, innovative businesses. An angel investor herself, Ms. Hudson is a member of the Women’s Capital Connection and Mid-America Angels in her home base of Kansas City. Ms. Hudson has worked in the entrepreneurial support field for more than 25 years. She holds a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from the University of Kansas and an M.A. in Public Policy from Rutgers University. After having worked for EURADA, the European Association of Regional Development Agencies, Claire joined EBAN, the European Association of Business Angels Networks. Claire then works in closer contact with investors and entrepreneurs by taking over the management of Be Angels in 2013. She joined the board of directors in 2009 and as a business developer and launched the network groupings of investors who are learning to invest in start-ups and the WBAC (Women Business Angels Club). Claire is active at the European level (Member of the Board of Directors of Business Angels Europe) and International level (Founding Executive Committee member of the Global Business Angel Network) in the business angels sector.
